Astrological Happenings Horoscope: May 31 - June 6

The compassion and kindness that we may normally share with others begins to flatline on Monday May 31 as Neptune in Aquarius begins her retrograde journey until November. As Neptune puts her motion into reverse, so does the unconditional love and understanding that is attached to it. The care and sympathy that we share with others is now preserved for our own self-healing. We have five months to detach from what we have been yearning for, and transform that energy into self-love - by remembering and releasing that which has not comforted our hearts. We are not fooled so easily by the illusions that romantic relationships or professional partnerships can deliver. We internalize and protect our heart, to help us reconnect with our own source of imagination, faith, and dreams. Creative Neptunian pursuits that we may find ourselves diving into can include wellness, music, yoga, art, and meditation - to reach nirvana. On the flip side, some may choose to escape reality as a way to find heaven in areas of alcohol, sex, drugs, food, and other areas to avoid a healthy change in order to find joy. We are reaching deep within our souls to find our own aspirations, vision, and truth. It's time to listen to listen to the music that our heart wants to sing. Inspire yourself, to create the world that you are looking for. The Capricorn Moon sets the right mood to stabilize our emotions so that we can take of what matters most - our family, reputation, and work. Enjoy your Memorial Day.

Astrological Happenings Horoscope May 24-May 30

There's a lot of cosmic activity going on in the heavens, and hopefully you are rolling with the waves, rather than against them. This weekend had some powerful oppositions for us to deal with, and depending on some of the choices that we were faced with, this week Monday May 24, will start off on a cool note as a Libra Moon strives to detach from sensitivities. As we concentrate solely on the facts, we leave no time to take anything personally. Utilize the scale's cardinal energy to tackle projects to keep the mind busy to access inner balance.

We're likely to find more comfort in concentrating on our own lives as Moon enters Scorpio on Tuesday May 25. With our emotions in a vulnerable place, we can feel easily threatened and be a little too observant of read more >>

Tarot Affirmations for Backbone & Integrity

About: Tarot Affirmations are positivestatements using the Tarot, to centerourselves while energizing our Mojo! Mygoal is to help invigorate higher vibrationswith creative visualization for self awareness, while enhancing one'sperspective, confidence, and productivity.Becoming part of the imagery is a necessityas it allows all senses to be encountered.Proclaiming and vocalizing your personalstatement out-loud 'seals your agreement'with the Universe. Disciplined practitionerssense a significant change within seventy-two hours of repeating the oath.Inexperienced users must understand that it can take a littlelonger until you find your own rhythm to encounter the magic ofwill and assertion.

Meditation: Sit for a few minutes alone, with eyes closed and a goal to relax. Calm all thoughts and emotions until you are awareof the quietness that surrounds you. With slow and deep breaths, feel yourself float into this calm energy, feeling your body andmind also adjusting to this quietness. All the noise disappearsand you feel at peace. Pay attention to the soundless spirit, asyou cleanse and exist with silence.

Visualization: Today's card image can assist you in thismeditative affirmation. To make this simple, have a large basket of laundry available as a prop. Study the picture and notice how the individual has a long way to go before he can reach his resting spot in the far distance. He awkwardly carries a large bundle as a companion for his journey. He doesn't feel it's pressure, as he concentrates solely on his path and his footwork. You can begin by standing, and walking in place. As you stroll along your imaginary path, think about a specific issue that you have been struggling over. What are dealing with, and how does it affect you and your life? What would you eventually like to accomplish from this situation, once you get through the chaos of tough decisions? What genuine action have you contributed, in order to create a favorable solution? Think about this for a minute or two as you continue to walk. When you have an answer, verbalize it out-loud into the following sentence: "I want to change/remove the _____ , so that I can have _____ , for the purpose of _____. This is your intention that will fuel your drive to achieve your goal. Visualize your dream up ahead. It is still very faraway, but is not unreachable, should you decide to travel its distance and rocky voyage. The choice is yours. What you need to determine, is how bad do you want this, and what are you willing to do to get it?

Grasp the heavy basket and hold it tightly up against you. This is the weight that you choose to carry with you each and every day. Despite the stress that you put on yourself, you aren't letting go, nor are you giving up. You insist on being in-control, which can cause limitations, but only from the perspective of where you stand. Choices and potential feel restricted as you carefully look down to watch your steps, rather than looking up for opportunities ahead. You carry much with you. Your walk through life could be so much easier if you would just drop this load... but it seem to be very meaningful, as it holds much power and importance to you. The burden that you bear is choice.

You may pace yourself a little faster as you walk, clutching the basket tighter. You are giving yourself permission to be hard on yourself, and you have chosen this tough road for a reason. You push yourself to the limit, and you refuse to stop for excuses or rest. No pain, no gain. Although you may feel like you are running on empty, you are reliable and taking responsibility for your future. You are proving that you are strong and have what it takes to succeed. Go ahead and smile, you've earned it. You want this bad enough, and you will find yourself empowered with great inner strength to walk through fire for it. No one understands the pressure that you put on yourself, nor will you ever let them see you sweat. You tolerate the pain, because you represent the backbone of true intention and purpose. When the deadline is near, when you're close to the finish-line, and when the odds are against you - is when your true super-power and magic comes alive!

The Affirm: While being one with yourself, announce yourtrusted affirmation:

I fight for my right to strive.

I know what I am made of.

I am a vision of success.

I trust my journey.

I found this quote and thought it was quite appropriate.

The individual activity of one man with backbone will do more than a thousand men with a mere wishbone. ~William Boetcker

Venus rules our money and relationships, and we just can't seem to get enough of love and security. Weekly Astrology Insight, May 10 - 16

Monday May 10, A Moon in cardinal Aries allows us to start the week on an energetic note. Normally we can be in a pretty good mood with the enthusiasm of Aries ruler Mars, but as Mercury is stationing, this can create a bit of mental tension. Aries Moon has a reputation for acting to quickly, and with Mercury in slow Taurus, we're a ball of uncertainty, asking ourselves 'do we jump ahead', or 'do we stay put'? Before jumping the gun, be sure that all steps are covered before moving forward. Show leadership on the job today, and display a willingness to be a team-player to avoid stealing the spotlight. So, Can We Have an Appropriately Un"ladylike" Response to Ben Roethlisberger!

If you had any doubts about how low this guy has sunk, read this Sports Illustrated article (where Ben is "coverboy").

If you're a waitress in the Pittsburgh area, do you demand his credit card in advance? Do you have to get a body guard to go to his table?

When I think of "what would be the proper response" to handle a jerk like Roethlisberger, all I can do is think about how Dabney Coleman was handled in 9 to 5.

Someone in the Strip is apparently selling "Dumb and Dumber" T-shirts with Tiger Woods and Ben on them. I'd prefer "Creep and Creepier."

I remember running into some of the '70s Steelers while on the town when I was in college, and they were always pleasant.

In contrast to Ben, the Penguins in general and Sid Crosby in particular, appear to have excellent reputations in town. Haven't heard a thing bad about any of them. And Sports Illustrated also had a nice article on Sidney this week.

MAY IS NF AWARENESS MONTH

so-i'm gonna shout it from the rooftops:

btw, Reggie IS one of the coolest people i know.

OHIO CSNY ( got audio back)

Advice for Bloggerettes: Grrl Rulz

May is our anniversary. Yeah! I heart the lady bloggers.

In honor of said anniversary, I would like to share what I've learned in the past four and a half years of being a girl blogger.

1. The blogosphere (and burghosphere) should be warm and welcome, comfortable and cozy, soft and satiny ... a safe haven, if you would, for those who visit our blogs. Strive to use warm tones, gentle humor and a kind word to make your blog a pleasant, happy place to visit.

2. Sarcasm and snark are not womanly virtues. Should you go there, you risk being labeled a harpy/shrew/bitch. Be sure to use emoticons to convey that you are gently joking and avoid being cast into the realm of women who overstep. You want people to "heart" you.

3. Opinions are best left to the menfolk unless you are discussing other women's sexual behavior. What reader doesn't enjoy a little catty comment? But be careful not to stray into areas that force your readers to make conclusions about your capacity for independent thought. Try to envision yourself in the middle of a kitchen rather than a town hall meeting.

4. Politics is best left in the capable hands of those who've been doing the heavy lifting for the past 2,000 years, right? I have two words: Nancy Pelosi. Her life would be so much easier if she was focused on being a grandma and maybe running for school board. Picking out history books is more genteel than foreign policy.

5. Don't fixate on specific politicians, unless you want to date them. You might gently encourage them to consider your point of view, but don't go overboard. The status quo is good enough. This isn't Philadelphia.

6. Be sure to maintain a 9:1 male blog to female blog ratio at all times. You might want to slow the posting down a bit when others "close up shop" so no one mistakes us for Ms. magazine.

If all else fails, get a jaunty beret!

Weekly Astrology Insight, May 3 - May 9

Monday May 3, Mercury trines dissecting Pluto 8:01am, and communications harmonize generously with regeneration. We are encouraged to reorganize our lives by eliminating the toxicities and nonsense that we have burdened ourselves with. With Mercury and Pluto in retrograde, our vision may not be completely clear - so it will take more effort on our part to review and re-focus on our goals ahead, so that we can see past 'the obvious' and get to the root of the matter. Retrogrades help us 'take a few steps back' as we travel into our past, so that we can re-examine and re-think our next steps. If we work 'hand in hand' with Pluto and Mercury, we can develop great awareness and clarity - to help us rid the clutter that we have been so desperately hanging on to. Spring-cleaning rids the dirt in our lives, so utilize this time to rid cobwebs that also exist in our minds. This is a time to break unhealthy patterns and quit bad habits, to get a new attitude and find happiness. Today's serious Capricorn Moon helps us to roll up our sleeves and do some hard work to improve our public status. Reputation, morals, and family is what matters, and we're focused on repairing and enhancing it.

In the tarot, The Magician (Mercury) and Judgment (Pluto) work in partnership in this life spread. We are to use important life lessons that have been learned (Major Arcana) in order to move forward. Like the confident wizard, we must use the magic of clear communication to achieve what we are seeking. We must also act as our own judge, separating facts from the illusion, so that we may replace peace for unnecessary pain... Read more>>
