The good wife's guide

I just caught this a couple days ago, too.

Point #10: Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

  1. Yeah, he'll probably want to discuss his golf scores or where in Manhattan he wound up after taking the unscheduled midnight plane to NYC.

  2. This is a page from a website called Relationship Headquarters. No yesteryear business here. This is modern day info. The author is selling a book about attracting men and keeping them. He tells us...

"Why you should not compete with your man -- and when to allow your man to be your superior. Even when you're capable of being his equal, trying to be his equal in certain areas will drive him away, and won’t lead to the intimacy you crave."

There's a ton of this kind of crap out there, even in the professional world. The message: be less so he'll feel like he's more (capable, powerful, intelligent, in control, etc.)

hmm. maybe that's why I'm single!
    ; )
