what is the number one problem for the city?

i just thought i'd toss this out and ask you to think about it and give the #1.

  2. a lot of police and surveillance stuff seems pretty scary and corrupt. also, the huge expenditures for things local people don't really want like stadiums, convention centers and attracting huge chains is unfortunate.

  4. that is going to be a hard one to overcome.
but good schools are a big draw so schools with a negative rep really do have a ripple effect.

  5. Happily, transportation infrastructure and socioeconomic segregation may have synergistic methods of remediation. I kind of wonder whether, since we are scaling back, whether it makes sense to energetically citify the Port Authority and strengthen its core, and then regrow the spokes when it's ready.
