This is the time of year that firefighters look forward to and dread. In these tough economic times we find that citizens attempt to heat their homes in unconventional ways, creating more of a fire hazard for themselves and those responding. Christmas lights, unchecked , creat electrical shorts at inopportune times. Candles are left burning, and of course holiday parties, with alcohol involved many times, lcreate opportunity for cigarette butts left in places like sofas or dropped in trash cans, that many times smolder in sofa's or cans without anyone's knowledge.
Please be safe this holiday season and remember that fire safety is especially important this time of year.
